A bizarre and deeply disturbing incident in Kentucky has left even veteran law enforcement officers stunned, after a man was allegedly caught engaging in sexual acts with a dead deer along a public roadway.
The incident unfolded on February 21, when a concerned motorist called 911 to report witnessing a man behaving inappropriately with a deer carcass on the side of Phillip Stone Way in Central City, Kentucky, according to reporting from The Independent. Responding officers quickly arrived at the scene to investigate the disturbing claim.
When police arrived, they encountered a man later identified as 32-year-old Allen Lynne Osborne of Owensboro near the reported location. Officers immediately noticed alarming physical evidence. According to Oxygen, Osborne had blood on his hands, his pants were pulled down around his knees, and officers observed deer fur stuck to his clothing, along with what they described as fluid present in his facial hair.
Police also reported visible bloodstains on Osborne’s underwear at the scene, which further raised suspicion. He was taken into custody within approximately 30 minutes of the initial 911 call, according to details cited by The Independent.
The disturbing evidence didn’t stop there. Once Osborne was transported to the Muhlenberg County Jail, officers conducting intake procedures discovered additional physical evidence linking him to the incident. Authorities reported finding blood and deer fur on his genitals, further supporting the allegations, according to Oxygen.
The nature of the case shocked even seasoned law enforcement officials. Central City Police Chief Jason Lindsey, who has more than two decades of experience, expressed disbelief at the situation. “This is a first for me—and I’ve been here for 21 years,” Lindsey told Oxygen, highlighting just how unusual the incident was.
Osborne now faces a felony charge related to sexual crimes involving animals, a serious offense under Kentucky law. According to The Independent, he pleaded not guilty during his initial court appearance on Monday morning following his arrest.
His bail has been set at $5,000, and if convicted, Osborne could face significant legal consequences. Kentucky law classifies sexual acts with animals as a felony offense, carrying a potential prison sentence ranging from one to five years, depending on the outcome of the case and judicial sentencing.
Cases involving animal abuse or sexual crimes against animals are relatively rare, but they are taken seriously by authorities due to both ethical concerns and public safety implications. Law enforcement officials did not release additional details about the deer itself, including whether it had been struck by a vehicle prior to the incident, though the animal was described as roadkill.
The incident has drawn attention online and in the local community, largely due to its shocking and unusual nature. While roadside deer carcasses are unfortunately a common sight in many rural parts of Kentucky due to vehicle collisions, criminal cases involving them in this manner are exceedingly uncommon.
For now, Osborne remains in custody as his case moves through the legal system. Court proceedings will determine whether prosecutors can secure a conviction based on the evidence collected at the scene and during booking procedures.
Regardless of the eventual outcome, the case has already left a lasting impression on local law enforcement and serves as one of the more unusual arrests Central City police have encountered in recent memory, according to statements made by Chief Lindsey to Oxygen.
